National Museum of Antiquities Scotland (NMAS) Sweater in Winter Landscape

£195.00
Title

This sweater has been designed by Judith Glue and the colours and textures have been influenced by the the vibrant colours of the Yellow Gorse Flowers that grow on the moorland grounds of Orkney and the Highlands.  These bright flowers only bloom throughout the summer time and add a bit of sunshine to the hillside.

It is beautifully made in Orkney by one of her experienced knitters based in their own home, this traditional fair isle pattern is made with Scottish lambswool.
This sweater has a stand up neckline with checkered cuffs and welt.

Judith originally designed this in 1987 and is based on an Original Fair Isle Sweater knitted in home spun yarns and hand dyed with flowers such as the Wild Gorse. This was exhibited in The National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland in Edinburgh where Judith found inspiration whilst In Edinburgh researching Fair Isle Knitting.

The pattern has recently been brought back thanks to a lovely friend of Judith's still owning one of the originals!

When you buy a garment from Judith you are truly buying an item that has been painstakingly made in a home and not mass manufactured. Judith's designs reflect the colours and textures of her homeland, Orkney

We do carry some Orkney knitwear stock but if the piece you choose is not in stock when you order we will contact you and make one up especially for you which may take up to 5 weeks.
