Olivia Yorston Jewellery

Olivia Yorston is a Scottish jeweller based in the Cairngorms, where she creates exquisite jewellery inspired by the rich nature and environment that surrounds her. Working predominantly in solid sterling silver and 18ct gold with the inclusion of carefully selected gemstones, her work celebrates organic forms and highly detailed realism.

Olivia employs a range of traditional goldsmithing and engraving techniques to bring her creations to life. Ranging in fabrication methods, from bespoke pieces, die-stamped jewellery and pieces cast in small batches, everything is meticulously finished in her own workshop. From hand engraving and polishing to stone setting and sizing, Olivia ensures every detail is completed to the highest standard, resulting in jewellery that is professional, luxurious, and timeless. Her collections are presented in eco-conscious packaging and are available online, through local galleries, and at selected fairs.

Olivia discovered her passion for jewellery in 2016, at the age of 21, while working as a bench jeweller for Sheila Fleet Jewellery in Orkney. Her skill and dedication led her to become Master Pattern Maker in 2019, and by 2020 she had added Designer to her role, creating unique collections inspired by Orkney’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.

In 2023, Olivia was awarded a prestigious Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST) Scholarship, enabling her to train under world-renowned engraver Malcolm Appleby MBE. Through this mentorship, she mastered endangered heritage techniques, including die cutting, stamping, and hand engraving, which now enrich her own work with intricate detail and depth.

Olivia’s jewellery reflects both her technical mastery and her deep connection to the natural world, offering wearable works of art that embody elegance, craftsmanship, and an ability to see the world through her eyes.
