About Annie Glue

Annie Glue is Judith's daughter and was born and brought up in Orkney. She inherited her Mum’s love of art and textiles from a young age. As a toddler she spent many an hour in her Mums shop, sitting in her high chair often attracting the attention of customers while they shopped.

In her teenage years Annie worked weekends in the shop and, after spending time away studying Textiles at Heriot Watt University, she gained her degree in 2011.  She came back to live in Orkney a few years later and launched her own business Annie Glue Knitwear and she also works with her Mum in the shop.

Annie hand-makes all her own knitted garments and accessories and likes to add a modern twist by re-inventing Fair Isle patterns. She uses top quality Scottish Lambswool and Merino yarn from Italy, which gives her knitwear designs a lovely soft touch. Many of her ideas are influenced by her beautiful Orcadian surroundings.

She has two gorgeous black Labradors that are very much part of her life, called  Blitz and Kraken, who often model for her! Annie can regularly be seen taking them long walks to the beach, while researching new ideas for her knitwear collection.
