Runic Jacket in Sea Blues
Judith designed this unique pattern in 1987 it was one of the first designs that she made. It represents Viking Runes or you could call it Viking Graffiti! Runes are found in the Neolithic tomb of Maeshowe on the Orkney mainland. Dont worry translated it simply says " Orkney" in Runic writing !!
This jacket with unique runic buttons and front pockets is painstakingly handmade by one of Judiths Island knitters from soft Scottish lambswool , it has ribbed front band, welts and cuffs . This sea blue colourway reflects the colours of Orkneys blue and sometimes very stormy seas.
Judith uses a fully fashioned method for making her collection and each piece is shaped by hand on a small domestic knitting machine then sewn together and finished by hand. When you buy a garment from Judith you are truly buying an item that has been painstakingly made in a home and not mass manufactured.
If this item is not in stock we can make it up especially for you but it could take up to 4-6 weeks to make.
