J. Gow rum is made on the tiny island of Lamb Holm in Orkney. This unaged white rum is made using the distillery's TC marque fermented to 9% abv over 5 days, then distilled to 85% abv in a single pass on their 2000 litre pot still (with rectification column), before being bottled at a strength of 50%.
It is named after The Culverin, a two tonne sea cannon from the 16th century, which could fire rounds up to 8kg for distances up to 1km.
